Street Signs and Lights

Repairs or replacement of downed or damaged street signs are generated by resident notifications or from Police or Township Staff.  If you notice missing or damaged street signs or non-working street-lights, please contact Palos Township Road and Bridge at 708-598-4451 or hwydept@palostownship.org.

EASEMENT-Right of Way

Easements (Right of Way) are to be used ONLY for placement of utilities, fire hydrants and approved USPS mailboxes.  Basketball hoops and/or other items are prohibited.

SNOW REMOVAL

PLEASE OBEY PARKING RESTRICTIONS-HAVING CARS ON THE STREET HAMPERS EFFICIENT SNOW PLOWING EFFORTS.

Priority #1 is to clear roads for emergency vehicles-Fire Trucks, Ambulances, Police Cars, etc..

Once that has been accomplished, we move on to other areas and cul-de-sacs.  Please DO NOT shovel or blow snow onto the street.  Snow can be shoveled or blown on to parkways next to driveways on grassy areas-not onto the street.

We purchase tons of salt every winter.  It is the most effective cost-efficient melting material for icy or snow-covered streets.  However, as the temperature drops below 10-15 degrees, salt loses melting power.  Please drive carefully.
