For the first time, Illinois voters may request an absentee ballot without providing a reason, thanks to a new state law known as open absentee voting. Suburban Cook County voters can download and absentee ballot application, requesting on by calling (312) 603-0944 or pick one up at any of the Clerk's six office locations. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is January 28.
GRACE PERIOD REGISTRATION
As of this election, the grace period registration continues for an additional week, up until January 26. Grace period registration is available at the clerk's six office locations. Immediately after registering, grace period registrants must vote. Registrants need to show two pieces of identification to register. Grace period registrants are not allowed to vote at the polls on Election Day or vote at any Early Voting site.
Early Voting
There is no change to Early Voting. Early Voting for the primary runs from January 11 to January 28 at more than 40 locations in suburban Cook County and the Clerk's downtown office at 69 W. Washington, Chicago. Early Voting is open from 9 A.M to 3 P.M. Mondays through Saturdays. A handful of sites are also open from 9 A.M to 3 P.M. on Sundays. All registered voters can participate, no excuse needed.

An Outreach Program is scheduled for January 21st, 2010 with the Board of Review in our Town Hall at PalosTownship, 10802 S. Roberts Rd., Palos Hills. Doors will open at 6:30 P.M. with the program to begin at 7:00P.M.
